Your Kairos Moment

KING OF KINGS
Song by Hillsong Worship
VERSE 1
In the darkness we were waiting
Without hope without light
Till from heaven You came running
There was mercy in Your eyes
To fulfil the law and prophets
To a virgin came the Word
From a throne of endless glory
To a cradle in the dirt

CHORUS
Praise the Father
Praise the Son
Praise the Spirit three in one
God of glory
Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings

VERSE 2
To reveal the kingdom coming
And to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation
You did not despise the cross
For even in Your suffering
You saw to the other side
Knowing this was our salvation
Jesus for our sake You died

VERSE 3
And the morning that You rose
All of heaven held its breath
Till that stone was moved for good
For the Lamb had conquered death
And the dead rose from their tombs
And the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who’d come
To the Father are restored

VERSE 4
And the Church of Christ was born
Then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old
Shall not kneel shall not faint
By His blood and in His Name
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ
Who has resurrected me

Your “Kairos” Moment
“Kairos” is a Greek word for TIME; but not just time, but an OPPORTUNE TIME; it is the RIGHT time. It is an appointed, critical, decisive moment. It is qualitative; it measures or captures moments.

Esther 4:14 - For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a TIME (Gk.“KAIROS”) as this?”

There was a sense of urgency and a call to action that requires her faith and boldness. Him, not in your efforts). Iyon ang mga “kairos” na sandali sa kanilang buhay; and they seized (took advantage of) those moments (the opportune time for them to experience divine healing and God’s transforming grace.)

“Chronos” is another Greek word for TIME; it refers to measured, sequential or chronological time. It is quantitative; it is measured in minutes, hours, days, months or years. It means the exact time or day or season (e.g. seedtime and harvest time). Alam ng magsasaka kung ilang araw o buwan ang hihintayin bago umani; the time here is “chronos”. However, spiritually speaking, unawain natin na dumarating din ang mga “kairos” moments (e.g. time to harvest) sa buhay nating mga Kristiyano dahil mayroon tayong itinanim [hence, the principle of sowing and reaping is true not only in the physical realm (e.g. farming, business, work), but more so in the spiritual realm]. God can accomplish in a couple of months what would take years by human efforts bound by “chronos” time [when heaven breaks into earthly time].

Bawat sandali ay may potential na maging “kairos”; but take note, hindi lahat ng sandali ay automatic na nagiging “kairos”; one must be spiritually attuned to God (aware of God’s presence, His goodness, His grace), then, even seemingly ordinary moments can become opportunities for grace, transformation or encounter.

Recognize, see (discern) and seize your “kairos” moments; don’t miss them (the Israelites at Kadesh Barnea missed their “kairos” moment]. Your “kairos” may be opportunities of healing, giving, discovery or financial breakthrough. Look at your surroundings. What is happening around you? What is happening in your life? What does God stir in your heart when you pray or meditate the Word? What open doors do you see?

Elevate: Application/Suggested Question:
How did you recognize and seize those moments?
