Sa pag-aaral ng mga “last things” or “end-time events (Eschatology), mahalaga na maunawaan ang Daniel 9:24- 27 dahil dito nakadepende ang mga katuruang katulad ng (supposedly) Rapture, 7-year Great Tribulation, the Antichrist, the mark of the beast or 666, a postponed kingdom known as Millenium or literal 1000-year reign of Christ, and the Battle of Armageddon after it. Kung wala ang nasabing gap sa pagitan ng 69th and 70th week (known as the “Great Parenthesis”; the Church age), ang mga nasabing katuruan ay mabubuwal (collapse). The truth is, this gap proposed by dispensationalism has no textual, historical or theological basis. Again, the seventy weeks (490 years) is one complete unit of time; it is continuous, unified timeline. Ang timeline na ito, kasama ang mga layunin na ibinigay ng Diyos para sa Israel (listed in Daniel 9:24), ay nagkaroon na ng katuparan kay Cristo.

We, Christians, are now in the New Covenant age where God dwells not in a physical temple but in the hearts of His people (His ‘ecclesia’). Remember, sa pagkawasak ng Templo sa Jerusalem noong AD 70, ang Old Covenant age (i.e. Jewish temple system, offering of animals, priesthood) ay natapos na. 11 Bawat pari ay naglilingkod araw-araw at paulit-ulit na naghahandog ng pare-pareho ding mga handog, subalit ang mga iyon ay hindi naman nakakapawi ng kasalanan. 12 Ngunit si Cristo ay minsan lamang naghandog para sa mga kasalanan, at iyo'y sapat na. Pagkatapos ay umupo siya sa kanan ng Diyos (Hebreo 10:11-12 MBBTAG). The power of sin is broken! The victory has been won; the enemy was defeated. Jesus now reigns in power and glory! His reigning is a present reality (not future). “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15 NKJV).
