Isa sa mga dakilang pribilehiyo ng pagiging born again Christian natin ay ang kakayahan na marinig natin ang tinig o boses ng Diyos o makatanggap ng mensahe, salita o kapahayagan sa pamamagitan ng Banal na Espiritu. Marami sa atin ay nakatatanggap ng salita o mensahe mula sa Diyos; hindi lamang tayo aware kung minsan na ito pala ay galing sa Diyos o ito pala ay boses Niya. That’s why, we need to recognize His voice (“My sheep hear my voice.”) Ang marinig Siya (hearing His voice) ay isa sa mga katunayan (proofs) na tayo ay may malapit na kaugnayan sa Kanya. There can be no intimacy with the Father without hearing from Him.
Hebreo 1:2a - Ngunit sa mga huling araw na ito, siya'y nagsalita sa atin sa pamamagitan ng kanyang Anak (MBBTAG). Sa pamamagitan ni Hesus, Ang Salita (God’s spoken Word), naririnig natin ang boses ng Diyos. Sa ating panahon, ito ay ang pangungusap ng Banal na Espiritu (the Spirit of Jesus) sa ating espiritu. The words Jesus has spoken are “spirit and they are life”. Kaya dito tayo mabuhay, sa Salita Niya. “Hindi lamang nabubuhay ang tao sa tinapay, kundi sa bawat salitang namumutawi sa bibig ng Diyos (Mateo 4:4)”. The Holy Spirit (who is dwelling in us) always speaks to us everyday, and as we become sensitive and attentive to His voice, we received divine inspiration or revelation knowledge. His voice becomes clearer to us. Nagkakaroon ng sagot ang ating mga katanungan; naliliwanagan tayo sa katotohanan at napapalakas (build up) ang ating pananampalataya.
Ang Banal na Espiritu ay nangungusap o nagpapahayag in the realm of our thoughts (spiritual thinking/mind). He may impress something in your heart that stirs up your faith and moves/empowers you to act (do what God tells you to do). Tandaan na ang lahat ng ating naririnig mula sa Diyos [what the Holy Spirit impresses in our spirits or in our thoughts], ay nakaayon sa Salita ng Diyos. Otherwise, maaaring ito ay mula sa sariling kaisipan lamang (own reasoning or according to five senses). Paano natin malalaman kung ang mensahe, salita o kapahayagan ay mula sa Diyos o mula lamang sa sarili nating kaisipan? It if comes from the Lord, with it comes a sense of peace (kapayapaan o kapanatagan) and joy. Ikaw lamang ang makakaalam o makakaramdam nito (you can discern it in your spirit).
We need to hear from God for direction, wisdom, instruction, guidance, protection and fellowship. Maaaring ang Kanyang pangungusap ay compirmasyon sa isang desisyon (which you are about to make): “Will I take this job?”, “Should I go abroad?”, “Should I take this course?”, “Should I marry this guy or girl?”, “Should I build my house here or there?”, “Should I open this business?.” O maaring ito’y tugon sa iyong panalangin, sagot sa iyong katanungan (all the “why’s” of life) o solusyon sa isang suliranin.
God is always speaking but sometimes we fail to hear, when or because: (1)we are more attentive to other voices outside (information, news, doctor’s report); (2)we allow jealousy, hatred, rebellion, bitterness, ingratitude, fear, doubt, pride and others to take over our hearts, instead of the fruit of the Holy Spirit; (3)we get distracted by so many things (social media, games and entertainments, tv programs, movies, etc.) (4) busyness in life. Lahat tayo marahil ay maraming ginagawa due to hectic schedules (works in respective fields, household chores, appointments here and there, etc.), subalit maaari itong hindi maging hadlang upang marinig natin ang boses ng Diyos kung tayo ay conscious/aware sa Kanyang tinig. “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matthew 11:15)
