From Humiliation to Glory (Jesus, the Exalted Saviour)
Behold, My Servant shall deal prudently; He shall be exalted and extolled and be very high.

Ipinapakita ng mga talata sa itaas na bago naitaas (exalted) at naitanghal si Hesus, Siya’y naging alipin (servant) muna. Siya’y sumunod sa kalooban ng Ama at naging masunurin hanggang kamatayan. Imagine, Jesus the eternal Son of God, surrounded by the adoration of angels, dwelling in perfect glory, power and holiness, willingly chose to step down into the limitations of human existence! Siya’y nagpakababa, nagkatawang-tao at namuhay bilang isang alipin. Ang Kanyang kapanganakan sa sabsaban (imbes na sa palasyo), ang Kanyang paglilingkod sa mga tao (imbes na Siya ang pinaglilingkuran), ang Kanyang pagsakay sa isang asno (imbes na sa kabayo), ay pagpapakita ng Kanyang kababaan. Inihahayag din ng mga ito na ang Kanyang kaharian o paghahari ay hindi katulad ng mga kaharian (o mga hari) sa mundo… na ang kadakilaan (greatness or glory) ay hindi nasusukat sa kapangyarihan o posisyon kundi sa pagmamahal, kung saan ang pinuno o hari ay handang magpakumbaba at maglingkod.

Humiliation does not mean that Jesus ceased to be God, but He laid aside His divine privileges. He emptied Himself by taking the form of man. Pinili Niyang mamuhay bilang tao, maranasan kung ano ang nararanasan ng tao (e.g. temptation, rejection, pain, and ultimately death on the cross). Siya’y hinatulan ng kamatayan sa krus (na para lamang sa isang kriminal) nang walang kasalanan. [Crucifixion was the worst and most shameful (disgraceful) form of punishment under the Roman Empire.] Tiniis Niya ang lahat ng ito upang tubusin tayo sa ating pagkakasala at ipagkasundo Niya tayo sa Ama.Jesus became obedient unto death; that’s why God (the Father) has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name, “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11 NKJV)

Matapos ang muling pagkabuhay ni Hesus, umakyat Siya sa langit at naupo sa kanan ng ng Diyos Ama (Hebrew 1:3). Ito’y sumisimbolo na ang kapangyarihan, karangalan at awtotidad ay ganap nang napasa-Kanya. Siya’y pinarangalan ng Diyos
Ama at binigyan ng kapangyarihan (supreme authority) upang mamuno sa langit at sa lupa. Siya ngayon ang Hukom at Hari ng lahat, ang namumuno sa Kanyang kaharian. Thus, the humiliation of Christ became the means of His divine exaltation!

At dahil sa ating pakikipag-isa kay Cristo, tayo rin ay nakatanggap ng karangalan. Believers share in both His humiliation and exaltation/victory through the presence of His Spirit within us. “… and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6 NKJV). We are enthroned with Christ! Ang mga mananampalataya ay binigyan ng kapangyarihan at awtoridad upang maging kinatawan (representatives) ni Cristo sa mundo. At katulad ni Cristo, tayo ay naririto, hindi upang paglingkuran, kundi upang maglingkod at ihayag sa mga tao ang Mabuting Balita at ang paghahari ni Cristo. We are called to reign with Him in humility and faithful service.

1. Kung si Cristo ay may ganap na kapangyarihan sa langit at sa lupa, paano mo Siya pinahihintulutang mamuno sa bawat bahagi ng iyong buhay?
2. Paano mo mahihikayat ang iba na makilala at maranasan din ang kapangyarihan at kaluwalhatiang nagmumula sa pakikipag-isa kay Cristo?
