The Coming of the Son of Man (Part 3)
Seventy (70) weeks or 490 (70x7) years ang timeline na inihayag ng Diyos kay Daniel para sa Israel:
Ø To finish the transgression
Ø To make an end of sins
Ø To make reconciliation for iniquity
Ø To bring in everlasting righteousness
Ø To seal up the vision and prophecy
Ø To anoint the Most Holy (referring to Jesus, the true Temple) [Note: all of the above had been accomplished in Christ.) Sinabi ni angel Gabriel kay Daniel na mula sa pagbibigay ng utos na muling itayo ang Jerusalem (through Ezra and Nehemiah as authorized by the king of Persia) hanggang sa pagdating ng pinunong hinirang (the Anointed), lilipas muna ang 49 years or 7 weeks (as shown in Chart A). Jerusalem (its city defenses, walls, streets) was rebuilt gradually, amid
opposition and hardship. Ito’y susundan ng 434 years or 62 weeks (prophetic silence) bago dumating ang Mesias (the anointing/baptism of Jesus in the Jordan river; [49 years + 434 years = 483 years] - around AD 27.

Ang natitirang 7 years (known as the 70th week of Daniel) ay kalimitang mainit na paksa (due to different eschatological positions from bible scholars). Ang iba (dispensationalists or futurists) ay naniniwala na ang 7 years ay magaganap pa lang
(in the future). For them the Messiah is cut off (died on the cross) at the end of the 69th week. Naglagay sila ng gap sa pagitan ng 69th and 70th week (as shown in Chart B); para sa kanila, ito ang panahon ng Iglesia [Church age, or what they call the “Great Parenthesis” (stretches out for centuries, 2000+ years)]. Ayon sa kanilang interpretasyon, anytime (within the Church age), Christians will be raptured and those ‘left behind’ shall experience the 7-year Great Tribulation. Also, according to this teaching, the Antichrist will appear and shall make a covenant of
peace but will break it at the middle (3 ½) of the 7 years. [Nothing could be further from the truth.]
We, at CFSM, agree with the position of bible scholars (particularly, partial preterists) who believe that the 70 weeks timeline revealed to Daniel contains NO gap, and events related to it were fulfilled in a continuous, uninterrupted manner. Sinasabi sa Daniel 9:27 na ang hari (refers to Jesus, not the Antichrist) ay gagawa ng matibay na kasunduan (covenant) sa maraming tao sa loob ng 7 taon, pero pagkatapos ng tatlong taon at kalahati (3 ½ years), patitigilin niya ang paghahandog. It was Jesus who made a covenant (the new covenant) to bring salvation to mankind (by grace through faith). Unawain natin na nang namatay si Hesus; tinapos na rin Niya ang paghahandog na hinihingi ng batas para sa kapatawaran ng kasalanan; He was the ultimate sacrifice for man’s redemption and restoration! Halleluiah!
